A preparation of receival of a high-speed train from Spain, “Afrosiyob”, is in process. This train will connect Tashkent and Ancient Samarkand and fully responds to global standards.

According to 12.uz and the "Golos Uzbekistana" (“Voice of Uzbekistan”) newspaper, the “Afrosiyob" train is unique not only in Central Asia but also in the whole CIS. The distance from Tashkent to Samarkand this strain will cover just in 2 hours. All the necessary conditions and facilitates are available for passengers. This unique event requires a creation of new engineer-constructions, railway stations, reconstruction of railroads, and modernization of communication and etc. in the short term.

In this context, in accordance with the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers large-scale preparation and re-construction works are being made. A 59-kilometer area of the railroad Dashtobod-Jizak is under capital reconstruction. On Yangiyer-Dashtobod area, a 2-side electrified railroad with a length of 39 meter is being constructed. On the route Tashkent-Samarkand, 658 km of the route is being bordered by iron and concrete construction at its both sides. Eventually, this will provide security of the races.
