Tashkent Department of the Chamber of Commerce
and Industry (CCI) of Uzbekistan and Shin Woo International Co., Ltd (South
Korea) on 13 June signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
The purpose of the MoU was the issue of
mutual interest – the promotion of Korean business in Uzbek market and Uzbek
business – in the Korean market. The Uzbek side is mainly interested in
attraction of direct investments to small and private business in Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of the "Year of
the small business and private entrepreneurship" announced by the President
of Uzbekistan in 2011, Tashkent department of CCI has been actively working on
attraction of foreign investments to small business in different spheres.
This year Tashkent department of CCI has
already utilized direct investments worth a total of $100,000. The exports made
up $6 million, a number of joint ventures was established on direct offers.
Totally, 514 companies
focus on exports, out of them 24 companies used the assistance of Tashkent
department of CCI to execute exports contracts. In 2011, Tashkent department
assisted in organization of three visits of business delegations abroad on
different directions of production.
